Martin is an engineer by training and college degree which allowed him to move into the information technology field. He worked at the University of Virginia School of Medicine for 32 years supporting clinical researchers. His creative side now takes advantage of my computer knowledge using Adobe Illustrator to create digital illustrations like the one's on display in this gallery. The world, technology and many great artists, past and present, influence his work: Peter Max, Frank Lloyd Wright, Ernest Trova, Claes Oldenburg, Alexander Calder, Georgia O’Keefe, Jackson Pollock, among others. Martin likes bold colors, hard lines, simplicity, repeating patterns. Unlike many artists, his illustrations span a wide spectrum of imagery. He prints all of his work on Giclee quality Paper and ink.
